Our world is clearly becoming smaller and more of a global community in many aspects. In the music world this is especially true, as musicians of various nationalities, ethnic backgrounds and cultures are able to interact and exchange ideas more readily than ever before. Because of the internet and the simplicity of international communication and travel, today’s players have quick and easy access to the artistic and cultural expressions of others around the world. This dynamic has always existed, to some degree, in jazz.
